Fred Means Business:

Fred Dewey is a high impact technology business leader. He specializes in hyperscale, turnaround, transformation, and startup scenarios. At Sun Microsystems he led 750 engineers to turn around a failing software release. At Portal Software (now a $4B division of Oracle) he drove revenues from
$5M to $300M in just 5 years, while building a team of 110 sales engineers in 26 countries, and retired at the age of 40.
After being a full-time dad for 5 years, and unable to stay out
of the game, he raised $2.5M in funding, bought a logistics
company out of bankruptcy, and turned it around. Then as Co-founder/CEO of an e-commerce company, he raised $750,000 of angel funding and led engineering/product management to seven major product launches. Since then he has rescued and turned around 6 businesses in 6 different industries, saving thousands of jobs.
In addition to his passion for business, he is also passionate about emotional intelligence and Conscious Capitalism. He launched an EQ training company, and leads workshops where participants generate a dramatic increase in emotional intelligence. He believes that in order for a business to thrive, it must serve ALL of its stakeholders (employees, customers, suppliers, partners, and communities, in addition to stockholders).
In addition to his high impact work, he enjoys flying small airplanes, basketball, boating, grandparenting, hiking and meditation.
